Mission Trip to Ecuador
Submitted by rkhotte2 on Wed, 12/09/2009 - 21:38.St Anne's, North Billerica is planning with Chris Morck a mission trip to Ecuador June 20 - 30, 2010. This is for adults. Application deadline is Feb 28, 2010. Contact Gay at gcoxpaint@verizon.net.
We'll be working with a church community called La Maná,in Cotopaxi Province near Los Rios province. The closest town that might be on a map is called Quevedo, about 45 minutes to the west. La Maná is subtropical with an altitude maybe around 3,000ft (my estimation). Youth World is the organization that we, aided by Chris Morck, will be working with to arrange this Trip.
Quevedo in Los Rios is the closest city, there is a hotel just a few blocks from the church, and we may be staying there. Chris has stayed there several times, and says it is perfectly fine. Very basic, but comfortable and clean enough. However as Youth World is organizing this they will tell us where we stay. Youth World takes care of all meals, water, translators and transportation according to my latest contact with them. Currently the costs for 10 Days are $1100 + airfare and odds and ends at the airport as well as incidentals such as a meal out/shopping/etc. So we estimate $2100+ which includes project costs too.
We do not have a specific project yet, but are hoping for building/road/etc - more on those lines. A transitional deacon, Rev. Carlos Zapata, is the minister of the congregation and so would help with the arrangements.
2009 Medical Mission to Haiti
Submitted by rkhotte2 on Wed, 05/13/2009 - 21:31.Christ Church, Needham, MA is looking for up to 12 adults and young people who are interested in doing medical mission in Haiti. Preference will be given to those whose have not previously gone with us. The dates for our next trip will be September 29-October 5, 2009.
The purpose for our visit will be twofold--to provide continuity of medical care and also to further the work of our partnership program. Our tentative plans are to go directly to Leogane on the 29th and travel up to Lazile the following morning. We'll spend one or two nights there and then return to Leogane. We'll run two more clinics out of there, one of which will be at St. Etienne, and then head back to PAP and then home.
We especially seek to have a dentist on this trip. If you are aware of a dental professional who might be interested, please put him or her in contact with us.

Youth Trip to El Hogar, Honduras
Submitted by rkhotte2 on Wed, 04/22/2009 - 23:20.This will be a youth trip for youth ages 16 and up, along with three adults. The application deadline is to be determined. Updated information will be posted on our St Andrews, Framingham website at www.standrewsframma.org under "Mission".
As of February 2010, we are still looking for up to four more high school students to accompany us. Please contact us if you know any youth who will be at least 16 by July, who might be interested.
